Last weekend my Guide unit went to camp so I thought I would share a few pictures from the weekend. It was a lot of fun and the girls really got to know each other and become better friends. It was a bit of a stressful time for me because I am in the middle of moving schools, but I still enjoyed my time!
Saturday morning- no coffee maker and a few of the leaders were desperate for a cup... hence this MacGyver-esque coffee maker. It was a coffee filter, colander, and a bowl. I don't drink coffee but the people who do said it was pretty good!
We made lanterns for our campfire that night using little plastic jars, tissue paper, Mod Podge, a flameless candles, and pipe cleaners. It was cool that all of the lanterns turned out differently, but they looked like a fire altogether.
The shadow of this tree at night freaked a few of the girls out so they decided to name him Albert and dress him up so they wouldn't be too scared going out in the night. I think it is pretty clever and adorable!
It wouldn't be a camp without a shot of something we ate. We went a little fancy with apple crisp and ice cream but it was delicious!
We made one of my favourite winter crafts, nature suncatchers, using a pie plate, water, a piece of yarn, and nature bits collected on our hike. It was crazy to think that in January they didn't completely freeze outside so I had to put them in the freezer. We are certainly having a warm winter! The good thing about this craft is it is all natural except for the string so when spring (or the afternoon sun) comes it just melts and the birds can use the string in their nests.
I really liked how the snow was sitting on this fungus so of course I had to take a picture!
It wouldn't be a trip to camp without a shot of the lake!
